Snow fell quite heavily here, mainly on me as I walked to the pub, but it melted as soon as it hit the ground - so we got all the irritation and none of the charm

The heavy snow we were forecast has arrived.
Only two problems:
- It's not heavy;
- It's not snow.

Just picked Mrs PL up from work,
Snow's melted but it's farqqing freezing.
Travel news didn't make pleasant listening for valleys folk/lizards.

Just nipped up to the newsagents; when I came out, the first few bits of sleet were descending. Forecast here is for heavy snow in an hour or so
Mind you, "heavy snow" around here usually means about a quarter of an inch that melts as soon as anybody looks at it.

One thing leads to another.
Global warming, snow, next we'll have triffids all over the lawn.

ditto - I'm just outside London, the garden still has snowman remains and blobs of compressed snow from when the dog / kids were running over it, plus the front garden still has the the mounds of snow from when I cleared the drive.Originally posted by BrilloPad View PostNo sign of snow in London. Except in my front and back gardens where there are remnants of 2 snowmen. Lets hope it remains like this.
Its been raining all day but at around 5 degrees it won't turn to snow I hope, I can't face another week trapped in the house - even though I am on the bench.
