I was tempted to do something trite like post a in response to this.

However, with all due respect to our good friend (there he is again, always ready when called upon), I decided that his talents are best employed as a quick and easy assertion of agreement or approbation.

RC's suggestion is more deserving of a verbal response; to wit:

    Good point, well made

(Oh look, snuck in there at the end )

Au contraire. That is 1 million CUK posts, not TPD posts.

It's the non-TPDers that have done 80% of the posts.

Perhaps it is General that should be retired? On the grounds that it has gone senile, rude, doddery, unpredictable, likely to wander off and get lost and downright old gitty grumpy.

It's worth a mention in the key stats - when BP updates me with the latest batch of '000s then I'll add it....

    Mwah! Mwah!

I could not have done it without you.

Of course I must give special thanks to sasguru for starting 'Test Please Delete' and AtW for 'Word associations'. It is the inspiration of such greats that the rest of us can only follow.

Whilst Fortune Green has been made immortal by 'One-A-Day', the pure elegant simplicity of NickFitz's 'The Counting Thread' has saved many another thread from strangling itself to death.

Special mentions must go to those astounding drivellers:
zeitghost, Scourer, sasguru, AtW, DimPrawn and Churchill who have each voluntarily provided over 1% of the million posts on CUK. What a sacrifice. What dedication.

And we must never forget the moderators who care for us and look after us, tending us with our every need.

But then there are the thousands of others who have contributed: all the "WHS" and "How do I get SC clearance" posters that made this immense feat a possibility.

So may I take this opportunity to say: it's Friday lunchtime (this applies to you too, Gonzo) so the weekend starts here - let the party begin!

    Nice pali.
