Perhaps you should archive your PMs every so often, just in case?Originally posted by NickFitz View PostJust realised that there may have been people who PMed me for an invite but whom I didn't actually invite
If you think I forgot you, can you PM me again and I'll sort it out. Sorry if I missed you - it's been a hectic couple of weeks

Agreed - the first versions were awful. Mate of mine was responsible for OCS at one stage, and got lots of grief from those of us that had to use it. Beehive is meant to be better, although doesn't seem to pay well - there was a contract in London paying £190/day advertised for ages.Originally posted by oracleslave View Posthttp://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Oracle_Collaboration_Suite
Launched in 2000, so almost 10 years
Early versions certainly weren't fun to implement or use, not looked at the new stuff.

Oracle Beehive
It's not been 10 years of OCS yet - I remember Oracle rolling it out internally

Not impressed to be honest. It's like an unstable version of oracle collaboration suite (which has been around for 10 years).

True - TBO, I logged in and on seeing the practically empty main screen my first reaction was "now what?" and I haven't looked at it since.Originally posted by cojak View PostWell I've got Wave now, all I need is a bit of bench time to play around with it..
(I tend to be a bit of stick in the mud with new things like this, but soon sort myself out once their use and advantages become apparent.)

I'm looking for work at the moment. I have to send my details to an agent, he replies, I reply, messages cross, woops, reply to that one, oh hang on he's asked something else in a different email, attach that CV there, confirm availability in that one. Wait for progress report. Wait. Nothing. Decide to send an email chasing progress. Have to write, "Hi, it's dang65 here, we were talking the other day about a role with MassiveCorps, I was just wondering if you'd had any further information..."
It drives you insane.
Imagine if all that was all on one wave. Just sweetly tied together in one place, no crossed lines, forgotten attachments, confusion. If the agent takes a couple of days off, all he has to do is to share the wave with his colleague and the whole lot is in there in one place, all nice and tidy (because you can edit a wave and correct spelling mistakes and grammar and cut out irrelevant comments).
But I'm not sure if agents have even heard of Google Wave. Would they be open to trying something new like this do you think?
