All IT support chaps wear their mobiles on their belts past a certain age, say 40. I guess its so they can carry more tapes.

I hate having things in my pockets... phone, wallet, keys. I don't wear a belt though normally. Maybe I should get a man-bag...

The mobile on the belt is bad, but not as bad as the mobile phone shoulder holster (ala Gareth in The Office), for all the losers who like to think they're James Bond, but really aren't.

There's a fat bloke here who wears one too. What a success for CUK; scientific proof that mobile phone holsters are for fatties!

Just spotted one of these in Starbucks. I can report that the owner was so fat that the phone would have struggled to have entered the pocket, without endangering the lining.

    I tentatively suggest that it's a fashion fix for lardy's ?

I can now confirm that the subject who was the inspiration for this thread has now answered a call on the holstered mobile.

    Whats worse:

    Hanging off the belt?

hanging off a lanyard round the neck?

I used carry my phone on my belt because it was too big for my pockets, but I've got a smaller phone now. Phew. Wouldn't want to be thought of as uncool.

Why not? Where do you normally keep it?

It's right up there with people who take a bundle of files into meetings but never open any of them, or those who plonk their car keys on the table as if they're going to have to dash off somewhere.

    Posers.
