All IT support chaps wear their mobiles on their belts past a certain age, say 40. I guess its so they can carry more tapes.

The mobile on the belt is bad, but not as bad as the mobile phone shoulder holster (ala Gareth in The Office), for all the losers who like to think they're James Bond, but really aren't.

I used carry my phone on my belt because it was too big for my pockets, but I've got a smaller phone now. Phew. Wouldn't want to be thought of as uncool.
