Don't really do self help books, but whilst on holiday myself, Mr P & Pogle Jr came up with the idea for one of those awful management style books and much hilarity ensued ... you had to be there I guess
Xenophon And The Art Of Horsemanship is quite incredible. He was describing the training of horses for war but when you study it, it describes a lot of the (very) modern thinking around the breaking-in (hateful term) of riding horses.
Read this book at Uni, really prepared me for contracting.
Death march By Edward Yourdon
Talked to a contracter friend recently, we have been on several projects together, in different parts of the world. He asked "What are we doing wrong, why do we end up on sh1t projects" Reply "We are contractors, permie's don't want to ruin their careers"
