The guys have to volunteer for it.

If she volunteered for sterilisation then I have no problems with it.

I'm not up for the state sanctioning anything as laws will be misused and there are examples of it everywhere.

I can only wish I was as nice and well balanced as Abraham. As my getting my pitchfork out, nah it can stay in your chest a bit longer yet.

I missed this thread first time round. I must say, this sort of drivel does irritate me.

IMHO the death penalty will worsen an already terrible situation. Vile crimes are committed for any number of reasons but for an educated, 'moral', sane and rational person to condemn another to death makes them no better than the perpetrator of the crime. The murder may have been committed in the name of insanity, the death of the murderer would be in the name of justice - the end result is the same - one person has killed another because they believed they were justified in doing so.

Fine, she can die lonely and screaming after that.

Slight problem with that argument. You can't remove children from a parent prior to them being born.

They do that in parts of china and it's rather frowned upon in the west

I doubt it will ever truly get through to her what she has done. I hope it does, for just one night.

No you cannot force anyone to be sterilised, that would be assault, neither did I suggest she be forced. It's just a personal opinion - as Mudskipper says, she is only really a danger to children she has care of. If she gets pregnant again you can be sure there will be a court order to remove the child at birth, providing the authorities dont lose track of her. Life outside prison will probably be more of a punishment than life inside. She is typical of a certain kind of dim, easily led woman that puts the latest bloke above her kids. Sadly not uncommon. They are often warned over and over again that they will lose their kids if they do not get rid of some abusing bloke, but ignore it.
