Thinking this through the Kenny Everett approach would be better and probably more economical.

I'm not sure the Great Wall is going to be long enough - we'll have to do shifts.

The Atkins PM who arranged an interview at the Thistle Cheltenham (60 miles from home) and then forgot.

The Atkins PM who re-arranged the interview (60 miles again) and told me I had the gig... 4 weeks later the agency rang and said they had over allocated their numbers in GC sorry...

That was in 2005 and yes I’m still bitter… couldn’t find another DV role quick enough before it lapsed.

Senior Japanese executives are allowed to sleep through meetings because they are deemed to be so wise and knowledgeable that they do not need to know what is going on in the meeting.

The PM who scheduled a 9 am Monday morning client meeting, and didn't send me the meeting invite till Sat, and didn't bother to phone and tell me about it either.

    Luckily I get in at 8 ...

PMs who think long Monday morning meetings get the week off to a good start.

You'd get in on a Monday refreshed by your weekend's break and raring to go. After a 3+ hour meeting which threatened to last until the canteen had no decent grub left, you'd be left totally demotivated until about Friday lunchtime.

Room for those shouting into the speakerphone (for only themselves) in the middle of the office?

Indeed, we're going to need a very large wall and a hell of a lot of amunition to deal with those that deserve it.

Project managers who arrange project meetings at 4pm, insist on far too many people being present, so you end up with only about a quarter of the participants actually involved in any discussion at any one time, and the meeting lasts 4 hours.

I recall one such meeting where we were discussing a particular issue. I had one of my staff - back at HQ - working on it. I got a text message from him while in the meeting, that hinted at a resolution. I just stood up, said "excuse me", and walked out. An hour later I went back into the meeting, they were still discussing the same issue. "You can forget that", I said, "I've implemented a fix".

Didn't earn me any brownie points with the management, but it felt good.

No, sorry. Mine go first since they were on the other end of the conferance call and kept us waiting on the phone for 30 minutes before they dialed in. We couldn't just say "ok, they arn't here, reconvene when they turn up", cos we wouldn't know when they turned up!
