The problem with Sharia law is not really barbarity of cutting off thiefs hands or killing people for drugs use - problem is that you can also get that if you turn to another faith or "insult" prophet or (like reporter in Afganistan) download some material from Internet about equal rights for women.

Maybe if they were only doing it to people who volunterily agreed to accept these rules as part of their faith, but they would do it to those who don't want this faith and that's the big problem.
