On my first day on a permy job I called the Head Of Archectiture Ali and did so for the next week till someone corrected me, this was his surname his first name was J**v*d. He then went on to claim race discrimination and got 100's of k's to keep it out of papers based on the fact someone called him an IT 'guru', guru being the oh so offensive term.

Well, 'guru' is not offensive word, it actually means ' genius'

A friend on mine kept calling me that , and explained you are called 'guru' just in a good teasing sort of way.

A manager gave me names of people he wants me to train.

He gave me a name called Nazism. Not on the email system.

It was a guy called Nazeem, looks like he spelled checked and accepted all. Doh.

I laughed as it was funny, Nazeem also really amused.

The guy said 'It is not funny'. I thought it was a sarcastic comment, so said how it is funny (as it is!!).

Response - icy look and said 'It is NOT funny'.

Had to look the other way before cracking up with laughter and more stares!

Have a nice can of Sprite to calm down.
