Considering the genetic disposition of most contractors, that could be an enhancement.

Happy tuliping new year to everyone... and make 2008 the year you spend 10 mins and cook proper food and not that artery clogging processed trans fat tulip.

    Welcome to CUK anyway...

Firstly, only a handful of people do regular work out of that list. Really only the top 5 or 6 are treating it more than a hobby - and only 1 or 2 are doing it as their job.
Secondly, the algorithm contests are entirely separate. Those are hour-long coding contests testing maths and algorithm skills and are entirely for fun. The software design/dev stuff is fairly typical J2EE or .NET work in the main.

But anyway we digress. I didn't set out to sell you guys on TC, just to know if anyone here was a member...

Work in London. Even support monkeys can earn that sort of money here.

Whilst this is kind of impressive, part of it was a prize fund, and on top of that the person probably had to work all the hours God sends to get it. If you look down at the number 40 person who got $895.52 (£449.33), well I earn that in one 7.5 hour day, which is far less impressive.
