    Read it again!

    He followed the police van through the junction after moving aside for it. he had already made room for the emergency vehicle, and any other following, so why move again, and across the junction too.

    As I mentioned earlier, you need to post details of your case on pepipoo. Disobeying a stop sign, like speeding, is an absolute offence and you are basically guilty unless there are "special circumstances not to endorse". Even if you make way for an emergency vehicle......

    If you are stopped in their way the emergancy vehicle can, and will, go past you on the opposite side of the road. Alternatively you could just pull over as far as possible to the side of the road to make room for them. In that situation the safest thing to do really is to just stop as out of the way as possible and let them sort out where they are going without having to worry about where you are going and potentially causing even more mayhem.

    Someone was telling me that there is no legal precidence that entitles the Emergency services to jump traffic lights, sounds like b0llocks

    Yes, the only way to avoid such penalties is to obey the law (or have a number plate made up with a car of same colour and model).

    Get on to www.motoringlawyers.com. If as you say you had "no choice" then they'll get you off (for a price). And next time register yourltdco as keeper of your vehicle. I've heard from a reliable source the rozzers have less budget to follow those up.
