jus spoke to the old bill department regarding the NIP, and was told if i accept liability and get the form in to them asap i have 2 choices

1.speed awareness course costs me £95 no points
2. 3 or 6 fixed penalty points and £60 fine or more.

ive sent the form, and will take option 1...

But you weren't speeding, you ran a red light?

it what they offer - its called a speed awareness course, but u got a point, when i get correspondence back ill update

A speed awareness course isn't a speed limit awareness course, and driving within the speed limit isn't the same thing as driving at a safe speed.

I think the speed limit at red lights is around 0 mph.

Had no choice but to jump a red light a few weeks ago (didnt shoot through a red at 90, they just turned as i went through - would have been too dangerous to brake last min) and also got flashed by the camera....

got a letter in post asking for drivers details from the police

So there was no amber light warning you the lights were going to change? In that case it's not a proper traffic light according to the regulations, and you're home free.
