Get on to www.motoringlawyers.com. If as you say you had "no choice" then they'll get you off (for a price). And next time register yourltdco as keeper of your vehicle. I've heard from a reliable source the rozzers have less budget to follow those up.

The only way you have no choice about stopping at traffic lights is if you were going to fast to begin with.

As far as making your ltd the registered keeper:

      a) It opens you up to BiK issues.
      b) Budget for chasing up offenses varies by Police Authority. My youngest brother is a copper and did 2 years of traffic duties. His force actually chase co. vehicles harder because they see them as a higher risk. People think they wont be identified so they are willing to drive faster / take more risks.

Yes, the only way to avoid such penalties is to obey the law (or have a number plate made up with a car of same colour and model).

Amber means stop if safe to do so

... or if an emergency vehicle is approaching from behind and you are blocking their progress and you have some social conscience.

Someone was telling me that there is no legal precidence that entitles the Emergency services to jump traffic lights, sounds like b0llocks

If you are stopped in their way the emergancy vehicle can, and will, go past you on the opposite side of the road. Alternatively you could just pull over as far as possible to the side of the road to make room for them. In that situation the safest thing to do really is to just stop as out of the way as possible and let them sort out where they are going without having to worry about where you are going and potentially causing even more mayhem.

As I mentioned earlier, you need to post details of your case on pepipoo. Disobeying a stop sign, like speeding, is an absolute offence and you are basically guilty unless there are "special circumstances not to endorse". Even if you make way for an emergency vehicle......

                      Read it again!

He followed the police van through the junction after moving aside for it. he had already made room for the emergency vehicle, and any other following, so why move again, and across the junction too.
