    Yeah the usual suspects of jobserve and linkedin for the most part. Or just try to bump up what I was on previously.

    I have a feel from what I used to be on and stick around that. 450 outside 600 inside but beggars can't be choosers in this day and age so prepared to be a lot more flexible when the gigs pop up. Rather be in a lower paid gig than on the bench. Not like there are multiple gigs around to have a choice.

    i try to guess what they'll pay, ask for 20% more, and then haggle from there.
    (usually get close to the most they'll pay)
    but then I usually know who i'm dealing with, since i tend to work for the same consultancies time and again.

    Where are you going to find out how to pitch your day rate?

    I use JobServe but it's pretty dated. There are also median figures on IT Jobs Watch but that feels archaic too.

    A friend of mine showed me https://www.levels.fyi/ for permies. I wished we had something like this for day rate contractors.
