Yeah, damn right I am responsible… as in will have to pay extra taxes to cover itOriginally posted by Uncle Albert View PostWell, there is a notorious squirrel botherer based in a sofa-less bedsit in Birmingham with a SKA that needs funding. Could he be responsible?

P.S. Brace yourselves for local income tax that will be called something like “council surcharge”Last edited by AtW; 5 September 2023, 17:25.

Had a not dissimilar approach at a large multinational I worked at They went Half Oracle (do it our way) and half SAP (do it however you like if you can afford the consultancy £££££££) turned out as an "interesting" solution.Originally posted by BlueSharp View Posthttps://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-englan...ngham-65962507
According to a new council report, the authority was meant to change such processes to fit Oracle's requirements.
Instead another approach was taken and the problems emerged.
Jesus, Mary and the wee baby donkey. Have these guys never heard of change management?

Clients have requirements and suppliers provide them so WTF was BCC having to accommodate Oracle's requirementsOriginally posted by BlueSharp View PostThe authority was meant to change such processes to fit Oracle's requirements.
IT projects are like every other and expand to consume the money available rather than get managed to meet the value demand

Fully justified if it's those in charge of the IT system failure, currently 5x original estimates and still not fixed...

Brum Local Authority is the largest in Europe. Issuing section 114 has been a long time coming, the adult social services in the city are long past breaking point and the wider council is losing millions every week.
There will be a lot of section 114 issued across the country, yet more incompetence from cutting back to much from the central government.
