How do you expect to be taken seriously if you let your feelings for a man you don't know overturn facts?

OK its not 'lying' in the first place its gross incompetence then, a senior manager at NW/Coutts starts to tell you privileged information and the BBC publish that verbatim. Any decent journalist would wonder why such a disclosure has happened.

When it was clear that part of Coutt's decision was partially due to their profiling and its happening to other Politicians and public people the BBC then changed the story to by a source knowing that the main thrust of the story was provably incorrect. - intent.

    • Coutts stated many of their customers views do not align with theirs.
    • Coutts stated Farage will likely deem the closure as unfair and use his platform to communicate his dissatisfaction. (Spot on analysis).
    • Farage claimed on Newsnight that senior Coutts manager rang him to explain him why his account was closed. (As well as completely misrepresenting what Coutts stated in their memos)
    • Farage continues to claim his account was closed and no reason has been given but it's obviously the woke blob after him.

    1) The BBC did not lie, lying requires intention.

    2) No evidence that Coutts lied.

    3) What is backing the BBC?

    4) Farage was wrong and has lied numerous times during his grift.

    5) Culpable

    What is proven by the evidence disclosed by Farage;

Its pretty obvious to me that the BBC source correctly told them the account was closed for commercial reasons, probably because to the source the politics of it all wasn't a factor in whether closure was approve. Politics, ie reputation, was one of many factors considered in whether an exception should be granted to override the commercial decision. So the BBC reporting that politics had nothing to do with it was inaccurate, it did play a part but not a material part.

Not really my style. If you get excited by people being screwed by banks then reach for the Kleenex if you wish!

It did amuse they were caught in a lie but I was certain they were lying, there were two many stories linking up.

Oh Nigel is going to enjoy turning the Knife!

    https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/entertainment-arts-66288464

The BBC has apologised to Nigel Farage over its inaccurate report about why his account at Coutts bank was closed.

On 4 July, the BBC reported Mr Farage no longer met the financial requirements for Coutts, citing a source familiar with the matter.

The ex-UKIP leader later obtained a Coutts report which indicated his political views were also considered.

He thanked BBC CEO Deborah Turness - who has written to him - and business editor Simon Jack for their apologies.

"It's not often that the BBC apologise. But for the BBC to apologise, I'm very, very pleased," Mr Farage said.

Mr Jack, who tweeted his apology, said his story was "from a trusted and senior source".

"However, the information turned out to be incomplete and inaccurate. Therefore, I would like to apologise to Mr Farage," Mr Jack continued.
