    I suspect this is part of the pre-defined script to ensure the vote does not go to the party members, who the tory MPs clearly hold in great contempt (perhaps, understandably).

    But, anyone who thinks that Boris "withdrew" for any other reason than being told, in simple terms that even he could understand, that he did not have support of 100+ MPs, is extremely naive.

    I thought Mordaunt was a much bigger lying buffoon than Boris, with about 1% of his achievement record. Most of her claims to experience, competence and military prowess don't stand up to scrutiny.

    That's why she has little support, the MPs don't believe a word she says.

    I assume Penny is looking for a better job under Sunak, but that may not work out well for her.
