You need to try the experiment again with shop brought marmalade - different ones - and different cuts of bacon, then tell us the perfect combination.Originally posted by vetran View PostOK in the spirit of experimentation 2 slices of Bacon were cooked and interred between two slices of white buttered bread that had been spread with MIL V's blood orange marmalade. 1. I'm on a diet - 2 slices is naughty enough.Originally posted by Gibbon View Post
That surely invalidates the experiment, you on a pension already? Also what cut and cure were you using. Has it been peer reviewed? The list goes on!
2. Tesco finest - tasty enough.
3. I took a second close up look at my sarnie so that is all the peering it gets!

President Butter ( yes I know its French but it is better, and local sainsbugs ain't selling it at the moment
)
Put some in a cup/bowl and fork through a bit whilst bacon is cooking, thickly slice some fresh (i.e. still slighty warm) farmhouse bread.
When bacon done pour the juices into the butter and mix, spread on the bread, make the sandwich and eat!
