Its the ONS, Government & the Grocers reality too. You are just agreeing with the RHA who have an agenda.

Apparently not but it is pretty bad and has the same causes the hauliers short changing the drivers hence few new drivers. Covid closing the test centres. The cheap workforce choosing the most profitable countries - Poland is suffering for instance.
We put the tax up - IR35
Reinstated visa fees & regulations - that lastbit was post Brexit)

Its OK to blame your erectile dysfunction on Brexit we all understand the stress of losing has made you floppy

Plenty of reputable sources have clearly stated and proven with verifiable facts that whilst Brexit had a minor effect it is not a major cause of the HGV driver shortage. As I say you seem to be pushing "Project away from reality" like a proper remoaner maybe paint it on the side of a white flag?

You will find the RHA do a lot more than run the services stations, but since you mention it many drivers have mentioned how poor the facilities there are to use compared to those on the continent. With poor pay & conditions (dragged down by cheap labour from abroad for years) these are some of many reasons drivers are leaving faster than those joining the trade.

    This is the reality:

I never said they did live here just that a very large number of EU nationals want to stay here where "foreigners are hated" as per the comment from our deluded country bumpkin.

OK so only 3.5 million EU residents actually live in the totally Racist UK, the other 2.5 million only applied to stay because they like the sound of the EDL? Must be terrible here.

This is the majority trade magazine for food retail like the caterer is for food service. Quoting ONS figures

    https://www.thegrocer.co.uk/supply-c...659841.article

Plus, according to ONS data, the loss of EU drivers is only a minor cause of the shortage. At the start of 2020, before the pandemic hit, there were 37,000 EU drivers in the UK. Now, there are 24,500.

That loss of 12,500 drivers only goes a little way to explaining the current shortfall. Given a total of almost 70,000 HGV drivers left during the pandemic alone, this represents just 18% of those who exiting.

    https://www.theguardian.com/politics...live-in-the-uk

The ONS says its “best estimate” is still that there are 3.5 million EU and EEA citizens living in the UK, closer to the original number that gave the EU citizens’ campaign group the3million, its name in 2016

The number could include millions who do not live in the country who may be taking out an insurance policy against high visa fees in the event they want to return to the UK in future, the ONS said..

    LONDON —

More than 6 million European Union citizens in the U.K. applied to maintain their residency before the end-of-Wednesday deadline that the British government imposed as part of the country’s departure from the bloc, officials said Friday.

Government relaxes rules on foreign HGV drivers to tackle crisis: Lorries from abroad will be able to make unlimited UK trips in a fortnight but proposals won't come in until the 'end of the year' amid backlash from 'appalled' British hauliers
    • George Eustice reveals that cap on EU deliveries in the UK will be lifted within weeks for a six-month period
    • Ministers bring in new policies as shelves remain empty and ports become choked due to lack of drivers
    • Unite to ballot supermarket and delivery drivers over walkout planned to be as big a Winter of Discontent
