I have several email accounts and two of them get no spam mainly because I don't use them for online shopping or give them to websites

Oddly, I get lots of spam to an account I have not used for years. Just check occasionally in case there's some old contact I forgot to update. Last few days, 2 free $100 gift cards from "Amazon", 3 explicit emails to meet sexy girls, , cheap viagra, cheap face masks, 2 more blackmail threats from someone who supposedly hacked my non-existent webcam and caught me having a * and a thing about my inheritance from a Ghanaian millionaires. Didn't think they did those any more.

I'm not so paranoid that I create a new email address for every site that asks for one, in order to track who is selling my data.

Aren't there sites where one can create a "throwaway" time-limited web email address?

What I find more annoying is the sheer number of people who think that my Wordpress sites use Admin as the administrator user name. The number of alerts I get from people trying to hack in is terrible. A concerted effort occurred over the weekend.

I don't get that on my Wordpress blog site because, on the evidence of zero comments, nobody reads it!

One rare person who did suggested Twitter is the best way to publicise blog articles, but I don't want to get into that and in any case I'm not bothered one way or another.

If you are not getting almost no emails then obviously there will be little or zero spam, it’s hardly a good example of effective spam filtering

Most of my spam comes from the fact databases that have have had my other email addresses have been hacked into. The fact these two addresses are not spammed is because they haven't yet been on such databases....

DONOTTRACK was the right way to do it - law should have required not tracking those who chose such mode in browser, but that would upset srrious business interests so they came up with massive red tape that never was meant to fit declared purpose.

GdPR should be scrapped completely

I think the cookie thing could be better implemented. I do like being given the choice of whether I accept just essential for function or the whole lot but there are occasions where I just want to quickly look at something and don't want to be bothered with it all.

I find the best way to get around that is to set my browser to delete all cookies on exit and just have a couple of sites where the cookies are kept because I'm too lazy to re-enter log in details.

Good, there are very few websites that are useful without cookies or the server storing state data and constantly having to react to popups is a pain

Data protection is also a farce and used by companies to hinder and not protect the user

In the USA, they have a right to Spam under the pretext of free speech
