They are on trial, so what else you want from him other than putting Boris and Co into the same place.

Why is the person with clear money problems and possible blackmail about kids/exes is holding top security clearance?

Don't buy the Tory narrative. This is important, despite the seeming trivialty of the whole situation, a relatively tiny sum of money on a refurbishment. As is so often the case, the coverup is worse than the crime. Why is Boris lying about this? Where did the money come from? What did this person expect in return? If Boris is willing to lie about little issues like this, what else is he willing to lie about? (answer: everything). The corruption that we seem to be seeing within this govt is worse (far worse) than anything I can remember in my lifetime. The Covid contract distributions alone alone make us look like a banana republic. We need to make a fuss about the (seemingly) small things, because otherwise they are emboldened, and before you know it we are handing out £37bn to friends and family for track and trace systems that are literally not fit for purpose.

If Boris broke the law / rules then it is important. An investigation is on its way (hopefully impartial) that should be it apart from the occasional snipe.

As mentioned above there are plenty of more important things to talk about.

You think corruption at the heart of the government of the 6th largest economy in the world isn't important?
You might not have voted for BlobJob but you're swallowed his koolaid.

It's a distraction because Labour aren't the proper opposition they're supposed to be so time gets wasted on photo-ops instead of doing their job.

Playing politics is the right accusation because he ought to be "doing politics".

"Tories attack Sir Keir Starmer's John Lewis wallpaper photo op

The Conservatives have criticised Sir Keir Starmer for visiting a John Lewis store to make a dig at the PM over the Downing Street redecoration row.

Tory chairwoman Amanda Milling said the Labour leader was "playing politics" by posing with rolls of wallpaper in a branch in Manchester.

The funding of recent Downing Street flat renovations is being investigated.

Sir Keir has urged Boris Johnson to reveal "quickly" who initially paid the bill for the work."
