    The Senate, not Congress, but that would be the whole point - for the Senate to then vote with 2/3rds majority and then choose the additional penalty, which may involve a ban on holding the office in future. Except that they won't get a 2/3rds majority in the Senate, so it's either a waste of time or contrary to their interests.

    Impeachment doesn't stop one for running for office, that was fake news spread on twitter. A separate vote in the Congress is needed for that

    He also has to get at least 8 cabinet officers on board. This was never going to happen, it's just an excuse to impeach.

    Which is why it doesn't really make sense for the dems to impeach They should take the long view - he may well run as an independent...
