    It's probably fried celeriac and not celery as the names are interchangeable in German, der Sellerie although celery is also sometimes known as der Stangensellerie.

    I fry things in a frying pan or wok, so that the oil or fat doesn't go everywhere and catch fire. Usually, I fry them in my house but very occasionally at a campsite. I always fry them in my own time.
