Both variants of apium graveolens. Celeriac is also known as knob celery, so it could be named Hitler's Knob Schnitzel.Originally posted by darmstadt View PostIt's probably fried celeriac and not celery as the names are interchangeable in German, der Sellerie although celery is also sometimes known as der Stangensellerie.

Mrs CFL is from Bavaria. She cooks this all the time. It is ******* delicious, try it and you will not be disappointed.Originally posted by NotAllThere View PostAccording to Hitler's cook, when everyone else had schnitzel, he had celery fried in breadcrumbs.

I fry things in a frying pan or wok, so that the oil or fat doesn't go everywhere and catch fire. Usually, I fry them in my house but very occasionally at a campsite. I always fry them in my own time.Originally posted by WTFH View PostNow, I've not won Masterchef, but I fry things in oil or another fat, not in breadcrumbs. I might coat the object in breadcrumbs prior to frying, but I do not use breadcrumbs to fry an object in.
