Can a mod confirm if I have to be nice to PC in general forums? Having to be nice in professional hopefully means I can double the abuse here?

I worked on a 'tech refresh' project for Railtrack 20 years ago and I still get asked about working on rail engineering projects to this day, mostly from the same few agencies. I imagine they will go through the roof when HS2 starts in earnest...Originally posted by psychocandy View PostYeh one guy must have emailed me about 10 times about a role as a "water treatment engineer" or something. Yeh I worked in IT for one of the water companies in the past.
Even though I replied and told him about 5 times that I didnt do that I still used to get the same email from him.

Apart from the one that thought that since I had worked for Sun Microsystems I was an expert on Sun Accounts, my favourite was the one that told me I wasn't experienced enough to be a Transition Manager despite the CV being full of Service Management gigs including two TM roles. I looked him up on LinkedIn (always good for a laugh) and found that up to five months previously he had been selling sporting goods, his first job after leaving school...
As long as agencies use juniors to deal with our side of the process, such idiots will always be with us. Just sigh deeply and move on.

I wonder if he was the same idiot who endlessly sent me mechanical CAD jobs despite being informed repeatedly that the only CAD I did was PCBs.Originally posted by psychocandy View PostYeh one guy must have emailed me about 10 times about a role as a "water treatment engineer" or something. He went away eventually, either that or he used the NTLhell email address that I dumped.

Design in both descriptions - you are a match. Simples.Originally posted by northernladuk View PostI can top that. Most useless pimp award?
Just had an email from a pimp who has obviously just spammed his whole contact list.
He has "helpfully" attached a guide to the new IR35 rules due to take effect from April
Then he asks if I am interested in remote contract work?
Er, yes - that is what I do.Tags: None
