The problem with America having a military parade is that it would take forever, given the number of 2nd Amendment Military with their private collections of assault rifles.

I suspect there is a divide between, on one hand, the English speaking world, which historically has had an aversion to a large standing army and militaristic trappings, and on the other hand the continental European culture which has accepted the standing army. American exceptionalism can make these differences less clear cut, but this may be the background against which Trump's parade is taking place.

I've been reading about it. Turns out it is a military parade put on by the President in honour of the nation's military. I think it's a great idea, though predictably the left don't like the idea of it.
