Remember one permie I worked with was off for months with a bad back - 6 months or something. He had a visit arranged with HR to his home and he'd forgotten.
So, of course, HR manager turned up outside and watched him landscaping his garden, digging, lugging stuff around all sorts. I remember he kept the 6 months pay but got asked to resign which I though he got off likely.

I'm aching this morning. I don't think removing 10sq Metres of lawn helped - the Mrs is happy, at least we've now got somewhere to bury the neighbors.

Only if you have one :POriginally posted by OwlHoot View PostAnyway, an occasional cold is good for the immune system.
Oddly thou my immune system is completely borked by the chemo I have had not had a sick day in some years (mainly because if some one is sneezing etc. I ban them from my office!)

The funniest sickie I saw was when a permie pulled a sickie for a few days after one weekend but he had written his flight details on a Post-it note and he left it on his desk.

I think I've had one day off ever. I was in hospital for the day. Still pissed off about it.Originally posted by pjt View PostIn 11 years of contracting I've never had a day off. Its weird I used to get sick all the time when I was a permie but since it now costs to be off my body seems to fight off pretty much everything fairly quickly. Hope I've not cursed it now
