Oman’s great. My favourite there is the Chedi in Muscat. The Al Bustan is pretty good, and if you want something that’s a bit more of a resort hotel with activities etc, then the Shangri-La would be the best option.
OK, it’s maybe 10 years since I was there, but it’s a lovely part of the world.

Actually, the old part of Benidorm is well worth a visit. If you happen to be in the area....

Alicante city is also well worth a visit.

Marrakech - went there 2 yrs ago in early May and it was v. hot (hit low 40's a couple of days). It's quite a long walk to the beach though...

Caribbean - Pick up a cat and head around the Virgin Islands. Might not get a pool, but you'll have an ocean to swim in.

If you're not wanting to sail, then maybe Scrub Island, Peter Island or the Bitter End.
