Mechelen, it's actually a city as it has a cathedral where the aristocracy get hitched. Not much larger than a town over here. Its the hq for Belgacom

I've never stayed in the centre of town (although I had options) when I've worked in Belgium in the past.
I enjoyed staying in Ittre or over towards Westerlo and Geel. I guess it depends which part of Brussels you're working in and how much of a commute you want to do... And how many points you want to get for speeding on the Ring.

Been offered a permie job in Brussels with all the benefits and a nice relocation package so will take that while I figure out how the Belgies work with contracting.
Missus working out her notice and we move next month.
Looking forward to a new adventure - probably the last one before retirement in Portugal, yay
