Greenland is part of North America. However it was a member of the European Community (before it became EU) and is the only country so far to ever pull out. It took them many years to sort it all out and they have only 60000 inhabitants

Mind your views on the continent. You will soon note that the continentals are generally in awe of the bold action being taken by the plucky British to leave the EUSSR and plot a course for free-booting Empire 2.0. You wouldn't want them to know that you're a saboteur.
