Totally agree. I recall one story where all politicians had an explosive collar round their necks. If enough citizens registered disapproval their heads got blown off.

Funny you mention "resign" and "retire" in a thread which started off about Nigel Farage, who has retired/resigned/left the job of leader of the NF several times, then comes out of retirement/unresigns/returns when he wants to, or things aren't quite how he'd like them to be.

There should be second EU referendum but not in/out, instead about the terms. Multiple tickboxes which major parts to keep SM/FM/CU etc. with massive educational campaign on the impact of keeping/losing each of them. Not going to happen of course since the Government is clueless of the impact themselves.

If it isn't hard brexit, you can only have whatever option the EU27 agree to. Even if 80%+ agreed that they want a particular flavour of Brexit - that doesn't cut any ice with the EU27. They have to agree to it as well - and if they did, they would extract a very high price - because they would know it was only option the government was allowed to take.

Therefore the default position has to be a hard brexit - and anything better than that is a bonus.

Lack of approval means leaving is not authorised: recalling Article 50 and putting to jail people who started it all that wasted so much money.
