Actually, this is closer than you think. I went to a BCS lecture at Hertfordshire University a couple of years ago and a care robot was highlighted as a major use case for robotics in the next 10-15 years. Apparently a good proportion of older care home residents enjoy interactions with robots.

Only need one or two care assistants for 50 people. Strap them into the hoists and away you go.

Course it will. Just strap the naked old people down on a conveyor belt in a suitable position and smaller versions of those car-making robots could do the necessaries.This is the one area that is least likely to be overtaken by robots
