    I guess someone kept claiming "Hookers and Blow" as business expenses. HMRC probably got sick of the non-itemised VAT invoices for those expenses and got a bit carried away in the process.

    I thought it was Labour that introduced retrospection in 2008? Tories opposed it in opposition then supported it.
