My point was America was a Penal Colony after the revolution the British Government started using Australia ex convicts escapees went to New Zealand (and a few underage convicts) . So asking for clean criminal records is mildly amusing.
As most on here have probably had security clearance at one time I doubt most of us have criminal records.

The Americans are sniffy about those as well. Just think if they hadn't closed our Washington tax office my Surname would be common in the USA instead of Australia.
