Subscription only. They'd go out of business otherwise. It's nice that a village / town of 9,000 can sustain a printed newspaper. You do have to write your own articles.
years ago i worked in OZ in a mining/resources town that was a tad "rough and ready"
The local paper had a large banner headline.. "our Strippers are safe".. after the local "gentleman's" club was taken over and a refit commenced..

Nearby Rutland by comparison is like the Wild West. I can remember not too long ago when the Rutland Times front page was splashed with OLD LADY GETS BIKE NICKED
