    Turns out that what we had yesterday was Graupel. Which i'd never heard of either. I thought it was just large hailstones, though bizarrely soft. Not so, graupel is a snowflake covered in rime.

    Ditto, in Brum where it snowed, then sun came out, so cut the grass, then just as I finished, it snowed/rained/hailstones/sleet then sun came out again. Then a bit more snow. Then around 8pm there was some thunder & lightening.
