NASA report January as the hottest month on record, at 1.13C above the 1951-1980 average, pushing December 2015 into second place.
This is above the temperature predicted by the climate models used by the IPCC, and for climate geeks, between Scenario A and B from Jim Hansens's 1988 paper.
A lot of the warmth is in the Arctic which probably explains why the sea ice is in bad shape

Of course, some people do not trust NASA, calling the data 'fiddled', indeed, some may remember an enquiry by 'respected international scientists' set up by the GWPF last April promising complete transparency and a detailed report. Here's the news

It seems that the Flat Global temperatures are frustrating journalists so they need to use ordinary weather events like a temperature spike at the pole to push their message.
A sign of desperation indeed when a particularly unspectacular flood in York (I was there last week and it wasn't spectacular at all) is used as evidence of global warming.

We of course saw the sensationalist reports of the Artic's unprecedented warming last week.
NoTricksZone: "Not here to worship what is known, but to question it" – Jacob Bronowski. Climate news from Germany in English – by Pierre L. Gosselin
examining all the years since 1958 we see that a temperature spike of some 12°K or more in a matter of a few days during the November – March period occurred more than 70 times! f
A sign of desperation indeed when a particularly unspectacular flood in York (I was there last week and it wasn't spectacular at all) is used as evidence of global warming. Especially when it was not due to the volume of water which was fairly normal but because of pumps being overwhelmed due to a fast run off, caused by "renewable deforestation" further upstream.Last edited by BlasterBates; 4 January 2016, 14:09.

Isn't fracking about injecting water into the ground? Is there a need to do it, since the ground in the NW is already saturated?
