I found a video of Pogle in her paddling pool.

Paddling pools. Lol.
Why not just build a proper pool like me?

No. she'd spend the first 4 minutes putting one toe at a time in, screaming "IT'S FREEEEEEZIN'!". Then once fully submerged, she'd decide it would be hilarious to take a running jump, slip on the grass, land on top of the semi-inflated wall that my dad had half-heartedly blown up whilst still smoking a fag, before giving up with the words "That'll do", which would then pop under her weight. The rest of the afternoon was spent trying to fit the paddling pool in the bin (pre wheelie-bin days) and being told by my mum to stay off the lawn because there's too much water on it, even though the plan was to spend the afternoon in a pool.Originally posted by darmstadt View PostWhat did she do, drink it?

My childhood summers right there!Originally posted by Project Monkey View Post- Leave it full for a few days.
- Treat water with sun cream, grass cuttings, mud and maybe a little dog tulip.
- To empty: get all the kids to sit on one side and let the whole lot flood across the lawn (preferably get the dog to stand in the flood and watch him go mental - very funny).

So, I have a few questions to those of you that may have something similar.
Do you empty it each time you use it, or leave it full for a few days at a time?
If the latter do you treat it with chlorine? Any issues with that?
How do you empty it? Just straight onto the lawn or syphon into the drain? I imagine that could take a while.
When I was a kid we had one of those poxy 3 ring pools that took about 10 minutes to blow up, 10 minutes to fill and 10 minutes for my fat sister to burst.
Things are different now. I feel like I've bought a swimming pool.

A bit deeper than that (1m)3 is around 1000 litres.

So the water is 13" deep. I'd certainly replace it at least every two days. The decent weather seldom lasts longer than that anyway.
