As I said, it's a standard format for describing a suspect so that relevent information can be distributed to officers. Ethniciy is not used to discriminate, is is a fundemental part of the physical description of the person they are looking for.

If it _was_ commented on, I imagine in this case it was because IIRC news reports shortly after the raid said the chief suspect was black.

Didn't hear that, but if it was so then it makes sense in that context. Pity they didn't look the CCTV first then.

The Ethnicity thing is becasue thats how the Police describe people. Ethnicity, Sex, Age (if known), physical description (if known), General comments or warnings.

The media just take that and recycle it.
