I do find it absolutely staggering the lack of effort people put in to dealing with their tulip. Just typing Edge Consulting EBT in to Google brings back all the relevant pages in CUK as the top searches yet the poster just logs on, hits the first link and posts his question.
Maybe this amount of effort is why the poster got in to this mess in the first place.

OK I'll start
Do you like films about Gladiators?
Do you own your own Sofa?
Have you bled the radiators?
Have you ever been up the OXO tower?

Who set up the EBT scheme for Rangers and the Murray Group?
A former lawyer who advised companies on tax strategy known as Paul Baxendale-Walker. He was struck off the roll of solicitors by a disciplinary tribunal in 2007. Mr Baxendale-Walker is the author of two books on EBT tax strategies and advised Rangers on how to set the scheme up and operate it.
He subsequently became involved in the porn industry, producing, directing and acting in films under the name Paul Chaplin.

Edge Consulting EBT Scheme
I was part of the Edge EBT scheme back in 2006-2007 and have only recently started receiving letters from HMRC. The latest one this week is stating I will receive in the next 1-8 weeks the amount I owe which I will be required to pay in 90 days.
Is there anyone who can give me any advice on;
1) Where we stand on this and whether we have the right to appeal?
2) Have HMRC taken this case to court and has it been overturned in their favour? If they haven't do we not have the right to reject payment until this has been won?
3) Is there a group to join where there is an appeal taking place?
