One thing you notice, in hot sunny climates, people don't drive convertibles (except idiot tourists). In cold grey rainy climates, everyone drives a convertible (with the roof up 95% of the time).

Discovered exactly the same thing in Vegas. Hired a big Mustang Convertible to have a drive to the Hoover Dam and then into the Arizona desert - I think we lasted all of 20 minutes before putting the roof back on!
