How many council tenants earn more than £60,000?

this just at the £60k cut off.

I would suggest council & Social housing cut off should be at > average wage or at least commercial rent + 20% charged. Or where the household income goes above average. So 3 adults in the house earning £30k they pay 120% of commercial rent.

DCLG says the average tenant renting from a social landlord in England is being subsidised by the taxpayer to the tune of £3,600 a year.

With every recent increase in the personal allowance, I'm pretty sure the higher rate threshold has been decreased.

I would have no problem paying tax if it were spent effectively This foreign aid law is an expensive stunt - Telegraph

It is particularly revealing that left wing commentators that bang on about taxing people more never ever demand that tax be spent properly. Which is why so many public services are privatised to monopoly holding corporates.
The service is transferred from a public monopoly to a private one that usually delivers a better though far from decent service.

Not even close. Those on super-high earnings would still consider it worth it for the substantial savings, and those in the regular "higher tax bracket" range mostly just pay their tax anyway.

yes but for years he lived in a subsidised council house whilst earning £150k a year, I assume his family still live there.

he is not the only famous person to do so, he was just the most high profile and publicly arrogant one to do so.

And people care how much tax they pay, not how simple it is. It mostly is quite simple anyway, since we use bands rather than some sliding scale.
