People Crying at Björk
I think you'll find she's Icelandic which isn't quite scandanavian although it was owned by Denmark for a while

"It's Oh So Quiet"
it's. oh. so quiet
it'a oh. so still
you're all alone
and so peaceful until...
you fall in love
zing boom
the sky up above
zing boom
is caving in
wow bam
you've never been so nuts about a guy
you wanna laugh you wanna cry
you cross your heart and hope to die
'til it's over and then
it's nice and quiet
but soon again
starts another big riot
you blow a fuse
zing boom
the devil cuts loose
zing boom
so what's the use
wow bam
of falling in love
it's. oh. so quiet
it's. oh. so still
you're all alone
and so peaceful until...
you ring the bell
bim bam
you shout and you yell
hi ho ho
you broke the spell
gee. this is swell you almost have a fit
this guy is "gorge" and i got hit
there's no mistake this is it
'til it's over and then
it's nice and quiet
but soon again
starts another big riot
you blow a fuse
zing boom
the devil cuts loose
zing boom
so what's the use
wow bam
of falling in love
the sky caves in
the devil cuts loose
you blow blow blow blow blow your fuse
when you've fallen in love
ssshhhhhh...

Haven't heard it yet but will be buying it.
I really like her work and must also admit to having just a bit of a crush on her (I know this is tad superficial but she has the cutest accent).
In fact, I'm going to buy it today.

I really loved the Sugarcubes when they first came out, due to the real quirkiness - it was something different and bold.
Although I appreciate the craft that goes into Bjork's work, I find I can't take it for more than 5 minutes at a time. I can't sit through a whole album, that's for sure. I prefer my music a bit on the hooky side.

I have.
I like it, but I'm not sure it's as good as Annie Lennox's Bare.

People Crying at Björk
Anyone bought her new album? Apparently it's "emotional and raw" and is all about her break up with her long term partner and father of her child.
I have to admit to wanting to like her more than I actually do, but I'm in a trying to get into new things phase so I'll give it a try.Tags: None
