It does take a lot of effort but really it's all about mass rather than muscle. Wish I hadn't lost that stone now. I might have to get me and the wife to stand on it together, I'm sure if I was heavier it would be quite easy.

Lucky I only need to do a small area, if it was a decent sized lawn I'd rent a machine (and a man to operate it).

I have a sand based lawn, so its not that "hard". About 220 Sq metres though, so back-breaking...the fork was an easier option (hard on the feet), since the plugs got stuck in the hollow tines and I spent more time getting them out of them.

The lawn aerator that I ordered, was so hard to use (required effort to insert deep enough to extract cores) that I landed up using a garden fork to aerate the garden!

It's a pizza with kebab meat and chillis and onions as toppings.

Tonight I'm playing football for the first time in 3/4 weeks so I am predicting aches and pains for saturday.

Saturday - dropping youngest off at a guide trip to Drayton Manor. Then spending a couple of hours watching Liverpool-Chelsea.
If the young un gets back in time then we will be going out to a firework display.

Sunday - roast dinner and stuff around the house.
