    Anyhoo I thought the purpose was to put to death. And the consequences of action was for the courtroom.

    Just because it's a death chamber doesn't mean that they couldn't have brightened it up a bit. Some nice bright colours, a sofa, some scatter cushions, a few paintings on the walls and a nice rug on the floor would make it a much nicer environment to be killed in.
