There's something completely creepy about having assembled audience of peers the other side of the glass to watch an execution.

For a progressive society it seems morbid to have an orchestrated execution. Your death is a private matter.

Just because it's a death chamber doesn't mean that they couldn't have brightened it up a bit. Some nice bright colours, a sofa, some scatter cushions, a few paintings on the walls and a nice rug on the floor would make it a much nicer environment to be killed in.

We can't see the ceiling. Perhaps there's Disney cartoons painted there.
