We needed permission from the magistrate and it was he who requested the pregnancy test. We had it done in the UK and the test result and a covering letter from the doctor in English was presented to the Italian magistrate whilst we were still in the UK. I understood that he was within his rights to ask for an Italian translation but he didn’t. Once we had the magistrate’s permission we didn’t need to present the test results again. Funny old lot, the Italians.
THANK YOU Lockhouse! That's very helpful.

"Question to Franko", gettin' it done since 2006.

I'm aware that the post was from 2006, but this question is so infrequently answered by English speakers that this post from 2006 turned up on page 1 of my google search. YOU spotted my post, and the next guy spotted YOUR post, so I'm hoping "Lockhouse" did too. I can't figure out how to contact him directly but he's still active on the site (I checked that first too). Even the Italian consulate said they weren't sure of the answer to my question!
