Don't know. Yes, it certainly is a very long process. Well, don't think that by just moving to UK for a few months will solve anything but then again, it's a complex issue. I wouldn't expect it to be so easy, otherwise everybody would have just moved to another country in EU (much cheaper than affording divorce in your country).I've seen much of the rest of the world. It is brutal and cruel and dark, Rome is the light. -
AIUI country of marriage is irrelevant, country of residence is what matters. If one party becomes resident in the UK they can initiate a divorce there regardless of whether the other party is OK with that. OTOH if the other party has already initiated a divorce in Italy, that's where it will proceed. First come, first served.Originally posted by FranckoDon't know. pregancy test for marriage in Italy?
Hi Lockhouse, did you have the pregnancy test done in Italy or at home? I'm wondering how it has to be presented/notarized to the satisfaction of Italian authorities. My fiancee and I are getting married in Italy in July, and due to the timing of the divorce papers we too will need the pregnancy test.Originally posted by Lockhouse View PostWhen we got married in Italy my wife had to have a pregnancy test by law even though she'd had a hysterectomy ten years earlier....
Thanks so much!Comment

I'm aware that the post was from 2006, but this question is so infrequently answered by English speakers that this post from 2006 turned up on page 1 of my google search. YOU spotted my post, and the next guy spotted YOUR post, so I'm hoping "Lockhouse" did too. I can't figure out how to contact him directly but he's still active on the site (I checked that first too). Even the Italian consulate said they weren't sure of the answer to my question!Originally posted by DaveB View PostYou might note that the original post was made in 2006...
