Did it happen to be a ladder?

Hermes tend to be ok but I guess it's down to which driver delivers it I guess.

As far as I can make out that card says "by Grift Rufey".

Sounds like a local hobo asleep on a nearby park bench, and Yodel left the parcel next to him, assuming he'd look after it until you returned.

I find Royal Mail (not Parcelforce, mind) to be the worst, followed by CityLink - Yodel has been ok in my experience and DPD excellent.

Yes Albert Dock. I knew a guy who was in the Finance Dept and the stories he had about the delivery drivers, funny but at the same time shocking.

I actually get deliveries from them.

I have a couple of neighbours who are nearly always in so all couriers apart from DPD ones automatically will deliver my stuff to them.

I did get a Yodel driver who pretended to do a delivery on Christmas Eve. On the website it stated it was delivered. Since someone was in all day and the neighbours were in all day I knew the driver was lying. I complained to Amazon so then he had to deliver it on Boxing day.

Given their aim of 100% customer dissatisfaction isn't there a slight risk that they would screw up and directly delivery the "parcel" to the local murder squad

Never had a successful delivery from them. Their crowning glory for me was "losing" an electric piano.

I complained to the vendor and they sent another one through a different courier. To the best of my knowledge the original was never found.
