I think when starting out it is a lot harder. Agents don't know you, you don't have a network in the contracting world, you're basically an unknown quantity.

You need to get yourself seen by as many people as possible. I do have one agent who seems pretty good at finding me work, but I don't rely on him. I apply for anything that looks to be a likely prospect, but also get enquiries coming in on LinkedIn. The more jobs you have under your belt, the easier it becomes.

Dealing with just one agency? Hmmmm.

There are more agencies out there than contracts I'm sure lol. Whereas it would be nice to stick with one agency especially if they turn out to be decent, its just not going to be possible.

If you have investment or pensions review knowledge, it's a pretty good time for contracts. PPI is hit and miss. Grovelands has a lot of good PPI contracts but more often than not, the clients withdraw. Personally, I am on the look out for general banking/PPI/admin contracts, but it's difficult to find ones that match the day rate of the current one I am on.

I work ten times harder when in I'm benched! Look forward to a contract for a bit of a rest...

Maybe you should phone THEM every day, maybe they are wondering why you are not more keen, and they are saving the good contracts for those that reeeeaaaalllly show they're interested?

This is going to come as a shock, so brace yourself........ they simply have....... no contracts available that you could do.

    Vacancies?

Time to start thinking like a contractor and the director of a small business (if you went LTD) I am afraid. You are selling your skills to the highest bidder now, not waiting for someone to cuddle you and give you a job.

You only deal with one agency? You need to spread yourself out more, get the cv out there.

Had some calls when I was working from the usual agencies but also 1 from Grovelands.
